Bosun Tijani and Anthony Blinken discuss tech startup ecosystem for mutual empowerment

Nigeria's Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has met with US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, who is visiting Nigeria as part of an Africa tour.


The meeting which took place at the Digital Technology Showcase organized by the US Embassy at the 21st Century Technologies Campus in Lagos witnessed the inauguration of an innovative and tech-enabled American Space to support youth innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity.


Known as the American Corner Lekki, the technology hub aims to support the Biden Administration’s US Strategy toward Sub-Saharan Africa’s goal to drive digital transformation and foster an inclusive digital ecosystem.

The leaders engaged in discussions that highlighted the robust linkages between the tech startup ecosystems in both countries and the need to leverage these synergies to empower entrepreneurs, drive innovation, and create an environment conducive to sustainable growth.


According to Dr. Bosun Tijani in a post on his LinkedIn social media post, There are strong linkages between the tech startup Ecosystem in both our countries and we look forward to even more cooperation as we empower our entrepreneurs and strengthen our digital economy for accelerated growth.

This is the second time the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken has been to Nigeria as part of his tour to Africa
