The MTN
Vice President for South East Africa, Yolanda Cuba, has held discussions with
the Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Mutati (MP) and other key
strategic industry partners in Zambia, as part of her working tour to that
country.
At a brief
breakfast meeting organized by MTN Zambia and attended by the Minister Technology
and Science, senior staff from the Ministry of Technology, and Senior
Management from the Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority
(ZICTA), alongside MTN Zambia Senior Management, Yolanda Cuba, in her role as
the host, noted the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving
shared objectives.
She
reiterated MTN's commitment to playing a significant role in Zambia's digital
journey and expressed eagerness to work closely with government agencies and
other stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives.
One of the
key highlights of the meeting was the exploration of opportunities for
collaboration between industry players and the government. Both parties
recognize the importance of working hand-in-hand to drive meaningful change and
foster inclusive growth. The focus was not only on industry-driven initiatives
but also on government-led programs aimed at promoting digital and financial
inclusion across the nation.
Hon. Felix
Mutati echoed similar sentiments, reiterating the government's dedication to
creating an enabling environment for digital innovation to thrive. He stressed
the importance of public-private partnerships in leveraging resources and expertise
to address the challenges and opportunities in the digital landscape.
