The Ghana Meteorological Agency and the
Italian Air Force - Meteorological Service have commenced discussions towards a
prospective partnership to bolster aeronautical meteorological service delivery
particularly in Ghana.
The Ag.
Director-General of GMet who welcomed the delegation at a brief opening
ceremony recounted the mutual relationship between both organizations and the
need to further engage especially in the area of capacity-building in
aeronautical meteorology.
He
expressed his profound gratitude to the Italian Air Force - Meteorological
Service for showing strong commitment and interest in ensuring that Ghana
achieves higher aviation safety and efficiency.
Gen. Luca Biano, Head of Air Force -
Meteorological Service and the Italian Ambassador to Ghana Daniela D'Orlandi
both noted the commitment of President Sergio Mattarella of Italy to
strengthening and establishing cooperation with Ghana.
Present on the first day of engagements were
Gabriele Palermo, Deputy Italian Ambassador, Paolo Capizzi, ITAF, Mad. Jemimah
Osei Boatemaah, representing the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization,
Management and staff of the Ghana Meteorological Agency.
