Safaricom
Ethiopia has donated 1 million birr to support the victims of the devastating
fire at the 'Ashewa' market in Dire Dawa. The donation was handed over at a
ceremony at the Mayor's office, where Safaricom Ethiopia's CEO, Wim
Vanhelleputte, reaffirmed the company's commitment to standing in solidarity
with the communities it serves.

The Mayor of
Dire Dawa City, Kedir Juhar, expressed his deepest gratitude on behalf of the
victims, residents, and city administration, acknowledging Safaricom Ethiopia's
timely and generous support.
In a
significant development, the Mayor also extended an invitation for Safaricom
Ethiopia to play an active role in the city's upcoming smart city development
project – an opportunity the company is eager to embrace.

This donation
and collaboration point to Safaricom Ethiopia's dedication to making a positive
impact in the communities it operates in. As the company continues to grow and
expand its services, it remains committed to being a responsible and supportive
partner to the people of Ethiopia.
