The Independent
Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has welcomed the Minister of
the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi. The
Minister's visit is part of a broader engagement with key stakeholders of the
DCDT, aiming to discuss key initiatives and collaborative efforts.
During the
meeting, ICASA Chairperson Mothibi Ramusi and CEO Tshiamo Maluleka-Disemelo
outlined the organization's strategic vision for the next five years, with emphasis on the necessity for clear regulations that support underserved communities,
attract international investors to the sector, and foster collaboration with
other regulators to advance the sector.
As the newly
appointed Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr. Malatsi
brings a fresh perspective to the department. With his experience as a
communications specialist, he is expected to drive growth and development in
the ICT sector.
