The Executive
Board Member and CEO of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of
Egypt, Mohamed Shamroukh has announced the
successful acquisition of 5G licenses by mobile operators Orange Egypt,
Vodafone, e& Egypt, and Telecom Egypt.
The acquisition
of 5G licenses is expected to not only transform Egypt’s telecommunications
sector, but also open it up for an unprecedented opportunity for growth,
innovation, and development.
The acquisition
according to Egypt’s telecom regulator CEO was made possible through the
collaborative efforts of key stakeholders, and extended his deepest gratitude
to H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, whose unwavering support and vision played a crucial
role in achieving this milestone. He also thanked mobile operators Yasser
Shaker, Mohamed Abdallah, Hazem Metwally, and Mohamed Nasr for their commitment
and collaboration throughout the journey.
The
introduction of 5G technology is poised to change Egypt's digital landscape,
enabling faster data speeds, lower latency, and greater connectivity. This
development will have far-reaching implications for various sectors, including
e-commerce, education, and healthcare.
