The Ministry
Delegate in Charge of Digital Economy and Innovation (MDENI) has officially
signed an agreement to establish the "Djibouti Code Campus" (DCC), an
initiative aimed at enhancing the digital skills of the youth in Djibouti. The
signing ceremony took place under the high patronage of H.E. Minister Mariam
Hamadou Ali as part of the broader "Djibouti Smart Nation" vision.
The Djibouti
Code Campus will focus on training experts in crucial fields such as coding,
artificial intelligence, and new technologies through innovative pedagogical
approaches. The initiative seeks to empower the youth with the necessary skills
to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, fostering a culture of
innovation and entrepreneurship.
The launch
ceremony witnessed the participation of various representatives from both the
public and private sectors, indicating the collaborative effort required to
drive this initiative forward. Founding members of the DCC association include
key stakeholders such as the Embassy of France, the France-Djibouti Business
Group, the Ports and Free Zones Authority, Djibouti Telecom, and Djibouti
Electricity. In addition, private sector partners such as the Djibouti Chamber
of Commerce, BCIMR, CMA CGM, Rubis, and the Information Systems Development
Company have also committed to supporting this vital project.
The Djibouti
Code Campus is envisioned as a center of excellence that will not only enhance
individual skills but also contribute to the nation's economic development by
fostering a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.
