Morocco's Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition holds discussions with UAE’s Minister of State for AI in Dubai

Morocco's Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, has embarked on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen ties and explore collaborative opportunities in the field of digital transformation. The visit included a high-level meeting with His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, held in Dubai.

The Moroccan delegation also included the Kingdom’s Ambassador to the UAE, Ahmed Tazi, and the Consul General of Morocco in Dubai, Saad Bendourou.

The meeting served as a platform for both countries to discuss areas of mutual interest in digitization and information technology, with a focus on accelerating innovation and enhancing the digital economy.

In her remarks, Minister Mezzour provided an in-depth overview of Morocco’s newly launched national strategy, ‘Digital Morocco 2030’, which was approved by the country's highest authorities. The ambitious initiative is designed to place Morocco at the forefront of the digital revolution, with key projects aimed at transforming various sectors of the economy through technological advancements.

During the meeting, the minister also reiterated Morocco's commitment to digital transformation and shared some of the strategic objectives outlined in ‘Digital Morocco 2030’. The plan aims to strengthen the country's technological infrastructure, expand digital services, and foster a culture of innovation, all while boosting economic growth and improving public administration.

For his part, Minister Omar Sultan Al Olama praised Morocco’s digital ambitions and welcomed the opportunity to work closely with the Kingdom on projects that would foster technological growth and drive economic development. He noted the UAE’s commitment to supporting Morocco’s digital transition, citing the importance of partnerships in building a more connected and innovative future.
