U.S. Officials highlight role of critical minerals in securing AI supply chains

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Helberg and Representative John Moolenaar has convened with leaders from government and industry at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to discuss the role of Pax Silica in strengthening supply chain security amid the rapid growth of artificial intelligence.

The discussion focused on how Pax Silica collaborates with partners to reinforce resilient and secure supply chains while capturing the economic opportunities presented by the AI revolution. Participants examined the strategic importance of ensuring reliable access to critical inputs required for advanced technologies.

U.S. officials underscored that critical mineral supply chains are central to national security and form the foundation for the future development of artificial intelligence. The engagement reflected the administration’s broader emphasis on safeguarding strategic resources while positioning the United States to lead in emerging technologies.
