The
Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), with support from the Ministry of
Education, has partnered with the FNB Eswatini Foundation and the Eswatini
National Commission for UNESCO to launch the ESCCOM High Schools’ Film
Competition 2026.

The
initiative is designed to identify and nurture emerging creative talent while
promoting awareness of broadcasting and film-related careers among high school
students across Eswatini. Through the competition, learners will be encouraged
to develop storytelling, production, and technical skills relevant to the
country’s growing creative and broadcasting industries.
Organisers
say the programme forms part of broader efforts to inspire youth participation
in the creative sector and to build a pipeline of future writers, directors,
and producers who can contribute to the development of Eswatini’s broadcasting
landscape.

The
competition is expected to attract entries from schools nationwide, providing
young participants with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and gain
early exposure to professional pathways in film and broadcasting.
