The
Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation, Mark-Alexander Doumba
has conducted a field visit to the construction site of a data centre being
developed by Gabonese firm ST DIGITAL, as part of government efforts to
strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.

The
visit enabled the Minister to assess progress on the project, engage with
technical teams on site and verify that construction timelines are on track.
The data centre, described as a strategic asset for Gabon’s digital
sovereignty, is scheduled for delivery in April 2026.
During
the inspection, the Minister emphasised the importance of meeting project
deadlines, given the role of the facility in supporting secure data hosting,
digital services and the broader national digital transformation agenda.

The
Minister also commended Gabonese economic operators for investing in
large-scale, structured digital projects and encouraged greater participation
by the national private sector. He underscored the critical role local
companies play in driving innovation, strengthening digital sovereignty and
contributing to sustainable economic development.
