Airtel
Africa Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Segun Ogunsanya has joined executives
of Kenya’s second-largest network operator, Airtel Kenya to officially launch digital
sim (e-SIM) for its customers.
The
introduction of e-SIM by Airtel Kenya according to officials will not only aid customers to access the
same functionalities as one using a hard copy SIM card but also offer several
benefits over the traditional cards as it is quick and simple to set up online,
planet-friendly, and provides an easy extra line without needing two devices.

Speaking
at the launching ceremony in Nairobi, the Group CEO of Airtel Africa, Segun Ogunsanya said with the introduction of e-SIM in Kenya, Airtel continues to stay ahead of the curve
where innovation is concerned about giving customers much convenience and flexibility
while championing technological advancement and creating innovative platforms
and opportunities that will make life simple.
In
his remarks, the Managing Director of Airtel Kenya, Ashish Malhotra also noted
that customers' expectations are changing and mobile network operators have been
forced to adapt to the new changes to enable meet the increasing technological needs
of consumers.
According
to him, he is confident that customers will quickly move to use the e-SIM for
what
it delivers.
“Mobile
users reward digital convenience therefore as a business we shall continue
enabling digital transformation to deliver the full customer experience,” he
said.
