Secretary
of State Marco Rubio hosted the Critical Minerals Ministerial at the U.S.
Department of State, convening international partners to discuss strategies for
resilient and secure critical minerals supply chains. The meeting, held under
the leadership of President Trump, brought together likeminded governments to
explore financing opportunities, collaborative policy measures, and frameworks
to ensure reliable access to essential minerals.

Secretary
Rubio emphasized the strategic importance of critical minerals to economic
prosperity and national security, noting that the United States has
historically relied on non-market actors for key components. “Now, the
Administration is taking decisive steps to identify and develop domestic
reserves for critical minerals projects that will benefit the American people
and ensure abundant supplies for the future,” he said.

The
Ministerial represents a concerted effort to build high-standard, diversified
supply chains, reinforce global cooperation, and safeguard against disruptions,
while advancing U.S. economic and security interests.
