Vodacom Tanzania Plc has paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology as part of leadership introduction engagements involving the company’s Chairman, David Tarimo, and Chief Executive Officer, Philip Besiimire.

The meetings, held earlier this week, marked more than 25 years of Vodacom Tanzania’s operations and investment in the country and provided an opportunity to reflect on the operating environment, policy predictability and the evolving role of the telecommunications and digital services sector in Tanzania’s development.

During the engagements, discussions focused on the sector’s position as a backbone of the national economy and a foundational pillar of Tanzania’s transformation agenda. Vodacom highlighted the importance of telecommunications and digital services in enabling productivity across all sectors, supporting financial inclusion at scale, facilitating digital public services and driving innovation.

The company also underscored the need for a predictable and well-aligned policy and regulatory environment to sustain long-term investment and accelerate progress under Tanzania’s digital transformation objectives.

Vodacom Tanzania reaffirmed its commitment to constructive and collaborative engagement with government institutions, noting that continued partnership is essential to supporting sector growth, strengthening national competitiveness and advancing inclusive and sustainable development across the country.
