Guinea appoints Minister Rose Pola Pricemou as Presidential Advisor on Technologies and AI

Minister Rose Pola Pricemou has been appointed Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, reflecting renewed confidence from the Head of State in her leadership and expertise.

The appointment follows a distinguished tenure at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, where Minister Pricemou oversaw significant advancements in Guinea’s digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem. Under her leadership, the national backbone capacity more than doubled, progress was made toward a second submarine cable, and regional interconnections enhanced the country’s digital resilience. Key initiatives included the delivery of the national Data Center, the implementation of the TELEMO project, revitalization of the postal sector, and support for Guinean startups achieving international recognition.

Guinea also strengthened its presence in global digital forums, securing representation on the Council of the Universal Postal Union and the Digital and Innovation Council of the International Telecommunication Union. Minister Pricemou capped her tenure by organizing the largest Transform Africa Summit to date, positioning Guinea prominently on the continent’s digital landscape.

The new role will see Minister Pricemou at the center of Guinea’s strategic initiatives under the presidential agenda, advancing AI and digital technologies as levers for national sovereignty, competitiveness, and economic transformation.
