Zambia’s
leading network operator, MTN, has participated in the Zambia–Ghana ICT and
Innovators Cocktail Dinner, a high-level engagement aimed at strengthening
digital collaboration between the two countries.
The
event was hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Technology and Science,
the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) and the
GSM Association of Zambia (GSMAZ), and brought together key stakeholders from
the ICT, innovation and telecommunications sectors in Zambia and Ghana.

Industry
leaders from both countries engaged in dialogue, networking and knowledge
sharing, exploring opportunities for collaboration, innovation and market
integration across the two digital ecosystems.
The
dinner was attended by senior government officials and industry executives,
including the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation of
the Republic of Ghana, the Zambian Minister of Technology and Science, the
Minister of Tourism, the Director General of ZICTA, the Chief Executive Officer
of Airtel Zambia, as well as senior executives from MTN Zambia, Zamtel and
ZedMobile.

Discussions
during the engagement focused on fostering cross-border partnerships, with
Zambian and Ghanaian innovators engaging the four mobile network operators on
potential integration opportunities and collaborative initiatives. Participants
also noted the significance of the recent announcement on visa-free travel
between Zambia and Ghana, which is expected to ease mobility and create new
avenues for innovation, trade and digital cooperation.

on bridging the digital divide and enabling solutions that expand access to
modern, connected services.
