The
State Information Technology Agency (SITA) has welcomed a delegation from the
Mpumalanga Provincial Government of South Africa to its Centurion offices as
part of efforts to strengthen intergovernmental ICT collaboration.
The
engagement provided a strategic overview of the government ICT ecosystem,
focusing on SITA’s mandate and its role as the central ICT enabler for the
public sector. Discussions centred on alignment, collaboration, and the use of
shared digital infrastructure to enhance service delivery outcomes within the
province.

SITA
officials outlined the agency’s value proposition, highlighting the importance
of coordinated ICT planning in supporting efficient, citizen-centric government
services. The session also explored opportunities to align provincial
priorities with national digital enablement frameworks.
As
part of the visit, the delegation participated in a facilities walkabout,
gaining direct exposure to SITA’s infrastructure ecosystem, cybersecurity
operations, and shared digital platforms designed to support integrated
government services.

The
visit reinforced cooperation between provincial and national ICT stakeholders,
with both parties emphasizing the role of digital transformation in improving
public sector efficiency and service delivery.
