The Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Wamkele Mene, attended the launch of two digital trade platforms, Biashara Link and Deal House, on the margins of the 39th African Union Summit.

The platforms, developed by Real Sources Africa, are designed to support structured trade execution through diplomatic missions and enhance cross-border commercial engagement across the continent.

The launch took place during a high-level strategic reception hosted by the Government of Kenya under the theme “Economic Diplomacy Delivered,” bringing together policymakers, diplomats, and business stakeholders.

In his keynote address, H.E Mene commended Kenya’s leadership in digital innovation and underscored the significance of the AfCFTA Protocol on Digital Trade in facilitating intra-African commerce.

He noted that digital trade frameworks are critical to reducing barriers, improving market access, and enabling greater participation by youth and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the single African market.

The event highlighted the growing role of digital platforms in advancing Africa’s trade integration agenda, particularly through the use of technology-enabled solutions to streamline trade processes and strengthen economic diplomacy.
