Senegal’s
National Digital Council (CNN) has convened a strategic working session at the
Primature du Sénégal under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
The
meeting focused on key pillars of the country’s digital transformation agenda,
with discussions centered on cybersecurity, digital identity, and digital
health. These areas form part of the government’s broader New Deal
Technologique, a national strategy designed to accelerate digital modernization
and strengthen institutional resilience.

Participants
examined policy, regulatory, and implementation priorities required to support
the development of secure digital infrastructure and services. Cybersecurity
emerged as a central theme, reflecting growing emphasis on protecting national
digital assets, enhancing trust frameworks, and safeguarding public systems.
Deliberations
also addressed the advancement of digital identity systems, viewed as
foundational for public service delivery, financial inclusion, and data
governance. In parallel, digital health initiatives were discussed in the
context of improving healthcare access, efficiency, and system integration
through technology.

The
session brought together members of the National Digital Council and relevant
stakeholders engaged in shaping Senegal’s digital policy landscape. The
discussions underscored the government’s commitment to building a coherent and
sustainable digital ecosystem aligned with national development objectives.
The
meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by Senegalese authorities to reinforce
digital sovereignty, strengthen cross-sector coordination, and drive
innovation-led economic growth.
