The
Secretary-General of Digital Cooperation Organization, Deemah AlYahya has met
with the Deputy President of Kenya, H.E Kithure Kindiki on the sidelines of the
Connected Africa Summit 2026 to discuss Kenya’s digital transformation progress
and opportunities for deeper collaboration.
During
the engagement, both leaders highlighted the importance of placing people at
the centre of development planning, with a shared emphasis on leveraging
technology and partnerships to drive national growth and achieve broader
development goals.
Secretary-Gneral
AlYahya noted Kenya’s steady progress across key digital economy indicators,
referencing advancements in areas such as workforce development and financial
inclusion, as reflected in the Digital Cooperation Organization’s Digital
Economy Navigator.

The
discussions also explored Kenya’s engagement with the Digital Cooperation
Organization and its interest in joining as a member state, with a focus on
strengthening collaboration to support the country’s digital ambitions.
Depyu
President Kindiki underscored Kenya’s commitment to advancing inclusive digital
growth, emphasizing that technology-driven transformation must be aligned with
the needs of citizens and supported by strong partnerships.
The
meeting reinforced Kenya’s growing role in Africa’s digital landscape, with
both parties highlighting the importance of sustained cooperation in advancing
an inclusive and resilient digital economy.
