Kenya’s
Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William
Kabogo Gitau has hosted a gala dinner in Nairobi to officially mark the
successful conclusion of the Connected Africa Summit 2026.
The
high-level gathering brought together ministers, delegates, industry partners,
and key stakeholders from across the continent following several days of
engagements focused on Africa’s digital transformation agenda. Discussions
throughout the summit centered on strengthening connectivity, fostering
innovation, and building strategic partnerships to accelerate inclusive digital
growth.

Speaking
at the gala, Kabogo underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in
bridging the digital divide and unlocking socio-economic opportunities for
African populations. He noted that beyond the exchange of ideas, the summit
reflected a shared continental commitment to advancing digital infrastructure
and policy frameworks that support equitable access to technology.
The
Cabinet Secretary highlighted that the summit had provided a platform for
meaningful dialogue and partnership-building among governments, private sector
players, and development partners. He added that such engagements are critical
in shaping a digitally empowered Africa capable of competing in the global
digital economy.

The
