Azania Bank partners Selcom to drive digital payment in Tanzania

Azania Bank one of the first-class banks in the country owned by social security funds and Selcom, a leading company in financial technology and digital payments, have officially launched a partnership aimed at improving digital financial services. 

Through this partnership, Azania bank customers will be able to access banking services at 20,000+Selcom Huduma agents across Tanzania.

These services include cash deposits and withdrawals with or without a card, checking account balances and Azania Bank agent float top without extra charges.



Also, on-card payment services (Merchant payment) are provided by Azania Bank in various businesses such as supermarkets, hotels and recreational areas, hospitals, gas stations, etc. Now with the support of Selcom, the service has been improved and has a wider scope as customers will be able to use Visa, UnionPay, Mastercard or American Express cards to make cashless payments easily and securely

Speaking at the launch, Azania Bank's Digital Banking Services Manager Mr. Vinesh Davda said, “This is a continuation of caring for our customers and Tanzanians in general, we are ensuring that our services are constantly improving as we keep up with the pace of development and new technology.”



Touching on Selcom's participation, Selcom's Business Development Manager, Geofrey Mwakamyanda notes that he feels comforted by the continued trust of Selcom by financial sector stakeholders including Azania Bank. "For about 20 years now, Selcom has been a leader in financial technology and payment services including agency banking and cashless payment services. We are looking forward to more partnerships in the financial industry in years to come”.
