Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and
Innovation has engaged with AI Skills and Compute Africa to explore
opportunities for strengthening artificial intelligence capacity, expanding
access to AI infrastructure and supporting innovation-driven growth.
The discussions focused on
advancing Rwanda’s AI ambitions through strategic collaboration aimed at
developing skills, supporting researchers and innovators, and creating an
environment where technology-driven solutions can thrive.
The Ministry said building
an AI-ready future requires more than technological investment, highlighting
the importance of developing human capacity and creating opportunities for
young people to participate in the emerging AI economy.
The engagement explored ways
to improve access to critical AI resources while strengthening capabilities
that can support innovation, job creation and inclusive economic development.
As Rwanda continues
implementing its national artificial intelligence agenda, the Ministry noted
that partnerships with technology and innovation stakeholders will play an
important role in equipping citizens, especially young people, with the skills
needed to develop and apply AI solutions.
The Ministry reaffirmed its
commitment to fostering collaboration that positions Rwanda and the wider
African continent to harness artificial intelligence for sustainable
development and digital transformation.
