Officials from Rwanda's Data
Protection and Privacy Office are undertaking a study visit to Kenya's Office
of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) as part of efforts to strengthen
institutional collaboration and enhance data protection frameworks in both
countries.
The week-long visit brings
together staff from Rwanda's Data Protection Office and their Kenyan
counterparts to exchange knowledge, share best practices and deepen cooperation
on data privacy regulation.
According to the Data
Protection and Privacy Office of Rwanda, the study visit is designed to promote
mutual learning on data protection governance while supporting the continued
development of effective privacy frameworks in both countries.
The engagement also seeks to
strengthen institutional ties between the two regulatory authorities as they
respond to evolving digital technologies, increasing cross-border data flows
and growing demand for stronger personal data protection across the region.
