Ecobank Group Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Awori has reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting Benin’s economic development agenda following a meeting with President Romuald Wadagni.

The engagement formed part of Awori’s visit to congratulate President Wadagni on assuming office and to discuss opportunities for deeper collaboration between Ecobank and the Government of Benin.

During the meeting, Awori highlighted Ecobank’s longstanding partnership with Benin and the role of its local subsidiary, Ecobank Benin Limited, in supporting businesses, financing key infrastructure projects, promoting trade and expanding financial inclusion.

The discussions also focused on shared priorities including broad-based economic growth, with particular attention to agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and initiatives aimed at empowering women economically.

Awori said Ecobank remains committed to leveraging its pan-African network and expertise in trade finance to support Benin’s development objectives and strengthen connections between businesses across the continent.

He noted that advancing intra-African commerce remains central to Ecobank’s mission, as the bank continues to support businesses seeking opportunities within Africa’s growing single market.

Ecobank Group reaffirmed its readiness to deepen collaboration with the Government of Benin and contribute to sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity through financial solutions and strategic partnerships.
