Aviation
professionals from across Africa have strengthened their crisis management
capabilities through a regional Aviation Crisis Management Programme held in
Ghana as part of efforts to improve preparedness and resilience within the
continent’s air transport sector.
The
programme, delivered in partnership with the African Civil Aviation Commission
(AFCAC), brought together aviation experts and professionals from Ghana, South
Africa, Uganda, Zambia, Chad, Rwanda and Togo to exchange knowledge, share
experiences and strengthen regional cooperation.
The
training focused on enhancing participants’ ability to respond effectively to
aviation disruptions by providing practical knowledge, strategies and tools for
managing crises within the aviation environment.
Organizers
said the programme was designed to support safer, more resilient and
sustainable air transport systems across Africa by improving coordination,
preparedness and response capabilities among aviation stakeholders.
Beyond
formal training sessions, participants engaged in knowledge sharing, drawing on
experiences from different aviation markets and operational environments across
the continent.
The
exchange of perspectives highlighted the importance of regional collaboration
in addressing emerging challenges in aviation and developing coordinated
approaches to crisis management.
The
initiative received support from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, whose
contribution helped facilitate the successful delivery of the programme.
The
partnership between South African Airways (SAA), AFCAC and aviation
stakeholders reflects a broader commitment to strengthening skills development
and building institutional capacity within Africa’s aviation sector.
