Gabon’s Ministry of Digital
Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation has announced adjustments to the
organisation of the final phase of the first edition of KIMBA Connect following
concerns raised by participating startups.
In a statement, the Ministry
acknowledged the feedback from startups regarding the conduct of the programme
and thanked all participating companies for their mobilisation and commitment
to the initiative, which represents one of Gabon’s first efforts to strengthen
collaboration between large enterprises and the national innovation ecosystem.
The Ministry said the
observations submitted by startups demonstrate the importance of the programme
and will be reviewed carefully to improve the evaluation process and support
continuous improvement for future editions.
The government reaffirmed
its commitment to the principles of transparency, fairness, dialogue, and
co-construction that underpin KIMBA Connect.
To ensure better
organisation and participation of all stakeholders, the Ministry announced that
the date for the programme’s final event will be adjusted. New organisational
arrangements will be communicated at a later date.
KIMBA Connect is designed to
create stronger links between Gabonese startups and established companies while
promoting innovation, economic opportunities, and digital transformation across
the country.
The Ministry said it remains
committed to working with startups and partner organisations to develop KIMBA
Connect into a sustainable platform for innovation development and
entrepreneurship growth in Gabon.
