Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) used the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Annual Conference 2026 to engage legal professionals and other delegates on data protection, privacy and compliance requirements.

Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, SC, MBS, interacted with participants at the ODPC exhibition booth during the conference, sharing perspectives and responding to questions on the evolving data protection landscape.

The engagement provided an opportunity for delegates to discuss practical issues surrounding data protection and privacy, as well as the obligations of organisations handling personal information.

The ODPC team also used the conference to provide guidance on registration requirements for data controllers and data processors and address questions relating to compliance with Kenya’s data protection framework.

The participation reflects the regulator’s continued efforts to increase awareness of data protection obligations among professionals and organisations as the use of personal data expands across Kenya’s digital economy.
