MTN Benin has joined a national campaign to distribute school kits to 145,580 learners across the country for the 2026–2027 academic year, as part of efforts to improve learning conditions and reduce school dropout.

The company participated in the official launch of the campaign on September 8, 2026, in Touncountouna. The initiative was organised by the Ministry of Nursery and Primary Education with support from UNICEF Benin and other partners.

The national campaign includes MTN Benin’s Back to School programme and is intended to ease the financial burden on families while ensuring that children begin the school year with essential learning materials.

The distribution of school kits is expected to support learners, particularly those from families facing economic difficulties, by improving their access to basic educational materials and creating more conducive conditions for learning.

MTN Benin said its participation reflects its commitment to supporting inclusive education and expanding opportunities for children across the country.

The initiative also seeks to contribute to reducing school dropout by addressing some of the practical barriers that prevent children from remaining in school and participating effectively in their education.

The campaign brings together government, development partners and private-sector organisations in a collective effort to support children’s education and strengthen the foundations for their future development.

MTN Benin said every school kit distributed represents an opportunity for a child to learn, develop ambitions and build a better future, reinforcing the company’s broader commitment to inclusive development in Benin.
