MTN MoMo Zambia and FNB Zambia have launched an ATM Cash Out service that enables MoMo customers to withdraw cash directly from their mobile money wallets at FNB Zambia ATMs without a bank card or an FNB bank account.

The service, launched in Lusaka, marks another milestone in the partnership between the two financial services providers as they seek to expand convenient access to mobile money and strengthen connections between digital wallets and traditional banking services.

The collaboration already allows customers to transfer funds between MTN MoMo wallets and FNB bank accounts, as well as make MoMo payments through FNB Point of Sale terminals.

With the introduction of ATM Cash Out, customers can now access their MoMo funds through FNB Zambia’s ATM network, providing an additional option for withdrawing cash and managing their money.

MTN MoMo Zambia Head of Strategy and Business Development, Pafyako Malema Museba, said the partnership demonstrates the role collaboration can play in developing a more modern, connected and inclusive financial ecosystem.

“Our ambition is to drive financial inclusion in a way that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Zambians,” Museba said. She added that innovation should not only involve introducing new technologies and services but should also make everyday financial transactions simpler, safer and more convenient.

According to Museba, the new service gives MoMo customers greater freedom and choice in accessing and using their money, while reinforcing MTN MoMo’s commitment to working with financial institutions and other partners to expand financial inclusion.

“Financial inclusion is ultimately about ensuring that every Zambian can participate more fully in the financial ecosystem,” she said. “By working together, we can remove barriers between financial platforms and give customers simpler, more flexible ways to manage their money.”

Victor Silavwe, Senior Manager – Alternate Channels at FNB Zambia, said the ATM Cash Out service was designed around the everyday needs of customers.

He said the service would make it easier for customers receiving business payments, supporting family members or requiring cash for everyday expenses to access their funds.

“At FNB Zambia, we remain committed to creating solutions that are simple, secure and relevant to the lives of Zambians,” Silavwe said.
