Accra, Ghana - Jobberman Ghana, the leading
recruitment and jobs portal in Ghana, has signed a memorandum of understanding
with Ghana Communication & Technology University, in Accra, with the aim to
connect students of the university to internship opportunities in Ghana.
At the brief signing session in Accra, the Ghana Communication Technology
University, Professor Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, Vice-Chancellor of the
institution expressed his excitement to partner with Jobberman Ghana.
“As an institution, our major aim is to train our students to
suit the market trends and be ready for the job market. So getting hands-on
experience is key to the learning process. As part of our training policy as a
tertiary institution, industrial attachment plays a major role so this is a
great opportunity for us as an educational institution and we are glad to
collaborate with Jobberman Ghana” Prof. Ohene Afoakwa stated.
Hilda Nimo-Tieku, CEO of Jobberman Ghana, on her part, stated
that Jobberman is very ready to collaborate with Ghana Communications
Technology University on this journey of placing students of the university in
various companies to experience the world of work through internships. She
also pledged the support of the entire Jobberman team to make this a success.
“As a recruitment company, we interact with employers daily, and
one main thing employers look out for is employability skills. So for students
to get the opportunity to experience the world of work, it will be an avenue to
learn on the job, know what to expect in the work environment, and also be
ready for the labour market.
Aside from internship opportunities, Jobberman will provide job hunting tips, organize
career fairs and CV writing clinics for these students as they
prepare for the labour market. As a brand, this is what we do best and we find
pride in that”, Hilda added.
