Eng. Gieth Kon Mathiang has
been reappointed as Director General of South Sudan’s National Communication
Authority (NCA), with the regulator citing his previous work on regulatory
frameworks, cross-border technological partnerships and digital inclusion.
The NCA extended its
congratulations to Eng. Mathiang on his reappointment, saying his return
provides regulatory stability and operational momentum as South Sudan works to
strengthen national communications infrastructure and advance its digital
economy.
During his previous tenure,
Mathiang steered key regulatory frameworks, fostered cross-border technological
partnerships and supported efforts to enhance digital inclusion.
The NCA said his
reappointment is expected to support efforts to strengthen national
infrastructure and protect consumer interests within the country’s
communications sector.
The Authority also expressed
confidence that, under Mathiang’s guidance, the NCA team will continue working
towards its institutional mandate of delivering accessible and high-quality
telecommunications services across South Sudan.
