Mauritius Telecom has hosted
the “Growth & Innovation” series by La Plage Factory,bringing together
founders, AI practitioners, ecosystem builders and institutional stakeholders
to explore AI entrepreneurship and innovation in Mauritius.
The event, held at the
Mauritius Telecom Campus, Ebène, featured discussions on ecosystem dynamics,
the importance of AI for founders and the enabling environment for AI
entrepreneurship.
Dr the Hon. Avinash
Ramtohul, Minister of ICTI, led discussions on creating an enabling environment
for AI entrepreneurship, while Mrs Teswaree Kisto-Heerah, CISO of Mauritius
Telecom, addressed the need to build trust in AI adoption.
The programme also featured
a panel on turning experimentation into impact, with Naveesh Doolhur, Head of
AI and Data Analytics at Mauritius Telecom, alongside other ecosystem leaders.
Startups from the ecosystem
also pitched their ventures, including the G&I Punch x La Plage Factory
cohort, supported by MCB.
The event brought together
key players in Mauritius' innovation ecosystem as the country continues to
develop its AI and technology capabilities. Mauritius Telecom said the
gathering reflects its continued commitment to strengthening Mauritius' AI and
innovation ecosystem by connecting founders with the practitioners, partners
and policymakers shaping its future.
