MTN Benin has launched a new
cohort of its TITA Digital Skills programme at the University of Abomey-Calavi,
with 60 students beginning training focused on digital skills and professional
integration.
Women account for 53 per
cent of the new cohort, reflecting MTN Benin’s focus on expanding access to
digital opportunities and promoting inclusive participation in the digital
economy.
The programme is designed to
equip young people with digital skills that can strengthen employability,
promote equal opportunities and support participation in the digital economy.
Addressing students at the
launch, Mrs. Essinu Enyota DJOMEDA, Director of the MTN Foundation, encouraged
participants to make full use of the training opportunity.
"The opportunity you
have today is precious. Over the next few months, you'll learn skills, explore
new perspectives, and develop skills that can make a lasting difference in your
career. I invite you to give the best of yourselves, to cultivate your
curiosity, to dare to question, learn and create, and above all, to nurture
great ambitions. »
TITA Digital Skills forms
part of MTN Benin’s broader approach to investing in human capital alongside
initiatives including Back to School and MTN Skills Academy.
While Back to School
supports students through the distribution of school kits and improvements to
learning conditions, TITA Digital Skills and MTN Skills Academy focus on
equipping students with skills to pursue opportunities created by digital
technology.
MTN Benin said its
programmes span the education and career development journey of Beninese young
people, from primary school and university through to professional integration.
