Visa has brought together
clients, partners, fintech innovators and industry leaders at Visa Connect
South Africa to explore opportunities to shape the future of commerce through
digital payments and technology.
Lineshree Moodley, Country
Head, South Africa, Visa and Board Member, said the event held last week
featured discussions on digital payments, artificial intelligence, cross-border
commerce, financial inclusion and SME digitisation.
According to Moodley, the
discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration across the payments
ecosystem in advancing digital commerce in South Africa.
“Meaningful progress will
only happen through partnership,” Moodley said.
She said South Africa has
the characteristics to lead the next chapter of digital commerce, while
emphasising the opportunity to turn that potential into tangible growth for
businesses, consumers and communities.
“What gives me confidence is
the momentum that already exists across our ecosystem,” Moodley said.
She added that continued
collaboration, innovation and efforts to build trust would help create greater
opportunities for businesses, consumers and communities.
Visa Connect South Africa
brought together stakeholders from across the payments ecosystem as the company
explored developments and opportunities shaping the future of commerce in the
