The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has launched a Child Online Protection Campaign at Kololo Secondary School, bringing together students, educators, Government and other stakeholders to promote safer and more responsible use of the internet by children.

The campaign seeks to strengthen efforts to protect children as they increasingly engage with digital technologies and online platforms.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Aminah Zawedde, called for child protection efforts to keep pace with the evolving digital environment, urging parents, schools, technology companies and Government to play their part in creating safer online spaces.

“Children should not be kept out of the digital world; they should be equipped to navigate it safely,” she said.

The campaign brings together key stakeholders to promote awareness and encourage responsible internet use among children while supporting efforts to create safer online spaces.
