United Nations Tech Envoy
Amandeep Gill has met Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian
Balakrishnan, to discuss the UN’s work on digital cooperation and artificial
intelligence (AI) governance during Singapore International Cyber Week.
The meeting focused on the
UN’s role in advancing international cooperation on AI, according to the United
Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies.
During the meeting,
Balakrishnan highlighted the UN’s unique role in this work and reaffirmed
Singapore’s commitment to international cooperation on AI governance through
science, policy and capacity development.
The engagement underscored
the importance of international cooperation in shaping AI governance and
advancing digital cooperation.
