EthSwitch and the Commercial
Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) have discussed strengthening collaboration to expand
digital transactions and make instant payments part of everyday life in
Ethiopia.
The discussion, held at
EthSwitch’s headquarters, focused on jointly driving digital transactions by
enabling the full range of EthioPay Instant Payment use cases.
These include
person-to-person (P2P) transfers, ETHQR payments, interoperable Request to Pay,
government payments, merchant portals, bulk payments, mandate payments and open
finance.
The collaboration aims to
make digital transactions more accessible and convenient for individuals,
businesses and public institutions.
By turning interoperability
into everyday value, EthSwitch and CBE seek to accelerate the growth of
Ethiopia’s digital payment ecosystem.
EthSwitch said its
engagement would continue with other financial institutions to help make
instant payments part of everyday life.
The company thanked the CBE
team for the constructive discussion and collaborative spirit, adding that it
looked forward to translating the alignment into practical progress for
Ethiopia’s digital payment ecosystem.
