The Office of the Data
Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya has held discussions with the Digital
Transformation Center (DTC) Kenya, GIZ Kenya, to explore further collaboration
on digital transformation and data protection as the organisations embark on
the implementation of DTC Phase 2.
The ODPC delegation was led
by Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, SC, MBS, while the GIZ Kenya team was
led by Sylvia Lautenbach.
The engagement provided an
opportunity for the two organisations to explore areas of further
collaboration, with a shared focus on advancing digital transformation,
strengthening the data protection landscape and reinforcing a culture of
accountability in the processing of personal data.
The discussions come as the
Digital Transformation Center moves into its second phase, creating an
opportunity for both organisations to consider areas of cooperation in support
of digital development and personal data protection in Kenya.
