MTN Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government of Uganda’s digital transformation ambitions through continued investment in digital infrastructure, expanding connectivity, enabling innovation and increasing access to digital and financial services.

The commitment followed a meeting between MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Mulinge and her leadership team, and Minister for ICT and National Guidance Justine Kasule Lumumba, Minister of State for ICT Alioni Yorke Odria, Permanent Secretary Aminah Zawedde and their delegation.

The discussions focused on the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance’s priorities and how MTN Uganda could continue supporting the government’s digital transformation agenda.

“As Uganda implements its Digital Transformation Roadmap, MTN Uganda stands ready to play its part through continued investment in digital infrastructure, expanding connectivity, enabling innovation and growing access to digital and financial services,” Mulinge said.

She added that working closely with the Government of Uganda could help translate the country’s digital ambitions into tangible opportunities for Ugandans, businesses and communities.

Mulinge expressed appreciation to the Minister and her team for the engagement, saying MTN Uganda looked forward to strengthening its partnership with the Ministry and supporting the advancement of Uganda’s digital agenda.
