The Namibia Press Agency
(NAMPA) is exploring new ways to diversify its revenue streams and strengthen
its financial sustainability as part of efforts to expand its content
distribution platforms and services.
The initiatives were
discussed during a quarterly meeting between Namibia's Minister of Information
and Communication Technology, Hon. Emma Theofelus, and the NAMPA Board of
Directors on 4 November 2026.
During the meeting, the
Board briefed the Minister on the agency's ongoing projects, achievements and
future plans, including proposals to introduce television screens at airports
to broaden the reach of its content and launch a weekend electronic newspaper
(e-paper).
The Board also provided
updates on projects undertaken and successful events hosted by the agency,
highlighting its continued efforts to expand its services and strengthen its
presence in the evolving media landscape.
Theofelus welcomed the
initiatives and progress made, commending the Board for its efforts and
encouraging NAMPA to sustain its momentum, pursue innovative opportunities and
continue exploring ways to diversify its revenue base.
The proposed initiatives
form part of NAMPA's efforts to expand its content distribution channels while
identifying additional sources of revenue to support its long-term financial
sustainability.
