Global, manufacturers of Nokia brand of phones, has unveiled the cheapest Nokia
C-Series range of smartphones at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in
Barcelona, Spain.
The latest
trio, including the Nokia C 21, the Nokia C 21 Plus, and Nokia C 2 2nd
edition, are all entry-level devices running on Android Go, Google’s operating
system design for emerging markets, including Africa.
With
the introduction of these cheap smartphones on the market, Nokia is poised to
reclaim its lost glory on the continent of Africa, where the smartphone penetration
currently stands at four hundred and ninety-five million, according to GSMA’s 2021
report on Sub-Sahara Africa Mobile Economy.
Speaking
at the event launch on Monday, the Chief Executive Officer of Nokia, Florian
Seiche, reiterated Nokia’s strategy of eschewing premium flagship handset devices
to focus the low-and mid-range and highlighted a goal to develop further its
range of services in the future.
He also
outlined an ambition to push deeper into the service segment.
Nokia C 21 specifications
The
Nokia C 21 smartphone runs on dual-SIM (Nano) Android 11 (G0 Edition). It has a
6.5 –inch HD+ display. Up to 3GB of RAM is available in the Nokia C 21. It has
8 – a megapixel rear camera with a fixed focus lens and LED flash. A
megapixel selfie camera in the front and has a 3000mAh battery.
Nokia C 21 Plus
This
also runs on Android 11 (Go Edition). It has a 6.5 – inch HD+ display and 4GB of RAM. It has a 4000mAh battery, a 13-megapixel primary sensor with LED flash, and a 2 –
megapixel depth sensor. Its also embedded with A 5-megapixel selfie camera.
Nokia C 2 2nd Edition

The
Nokia C 2 2nd Edition smartphone runs on dual-SIM (Nano) Android 11. It has a 5.7 –inch FWVGA display. The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek
SoC clocked at 1.5GHz with four cores of Cortex-A53. It comes with a 5-megapixel
rear camera with a focus lens and a LED flash. Standard 32GB storage is
available in the phone, expanding to 256GB with a microSD card. It also has a removable battery of 2400mAh.
