Kenya's President William Ruto has officially commissioned a new Call Center International (CCI) at Tatu City, a move expected to create employment opportunities for over 5,000 young Kenyan youths in the country's thriving digital space. This development marks a significant milestone in Kenya's quest to become a hub for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and ITES companies.

Located at Tatu City, the new CCI facility is strategically positioned to leverage Kenya's robust initiatives, including the Kenya Digital Superhighway, digital skilling programs, and a supportive policy framework. These initiatives have made Kenya an attractive destination for BPO and ITES companies, thanks to its IT-talented, English-proficient, and youthful population.

According to Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo, the BPO facility is already employing around 5,000 youth in the digital space, with opportunities for partnership with the Kenya Kwanza Government in the rollout of Digital Hubs in villages across the country.

The launch event was attended by various dignitaries, including CS Trade and Investment Rebecca Miano, Kiambu Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi, US Ambassador Meg Whitman, CCI CEO Martin Roe, PS ICT Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa, and Senate ICT Committee Chairman HON ALLAN K CHESANG, among others.

President Ruto emphasized the enormous opportunities available for Kenyan youth in the digital space, stating that the country's prospects for the gig economy are well within reach. This development is expected to further cement Kenya's position as a leading destination for BPO and ITES companies, capitalizing on Africa's growth potential.

The CCI facility at Tatu City is expected to double the firm's capacity to over 4,000 seats in a single location, making it one of the largest in the region. This expansion is driven by global demand for Kenya's talent in high-growth areas such as business and technology services.

CCI provides business process outsourcing, supporting customers worldwide with voice and digital interactions from its facilities in Kenya and other locations. As a leading player in technology, telecommunications, and financial industry sectors, CCI serves clients in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and other international markets.
