The Ministry of
Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy under the leadership of
Minister, Alioune Sall has held a workshop to engage with key industry players on
Senegal’s New Digital Strategy.
The workshop which
brought together diverse actors from various sectors, including startups,
fintechs, e-commerce players, and regulatory bodies aimed to chart a
comprehensive path for the nation's digital transformation. Participants were
given an in-depth look at the strategy's main pillars and discussed its
potential impact on their industries.
According to the
Minister of Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy, Alioune Sall
the goal of an inclusive and effectively new digital strategy for the country is
to position Senegal as a leading technology hub in Africa, boosting innovation
and digital growth in a range of sectors.
Key themes
addressed during the workshop included the critical role of startups in driving
innovation, the growing importance of e-commerce, and the dynamic nature of
fintechs. Participants also highlighted the need for a regulatory framework
that adapts to the fast-evolving digital landscape.
The Minister
