MTN Uganda has been honored as the Most Admired Telecommunications Brand and Most Admired Brand for Social, People, and Environmental Impact at the prestigious 14th edition of the Brand Africa 100 Awards. The awards ceremony, held at the Fontis Hotel in Kampala, was graced by Thebe Ikalafeng, Chairman of Brand Africa, and organized in partnership with Publics Africa Communications.

These accolades were the result of a comprehensive survey and rankings conducted by independent research partners, including GeoPoll, Kantar, and Integrate and Analysis. The study, carried out across over 30 African countries between January and March 2024, aimed to identify the most admired brands continent-wide and for each country, based on their impact and recognition among consumers.

According to organizers, MTN Uganda has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability, with its ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. This focus on environmental stewardship is complemented by impactful community initiatives through the MTN Foundation, which is dedicated to creating a brighter, more sustainable future for Ugandans. Through programs like Y'ello Car, MTN is empowering lives and driving meaningful change across various communities in the country.

Receiving the awards on behalf of MTN were Somdev Sen, outgoing Chief Marketing Officer; Bryan Mbasa, Senior Manager of the MTN Foundation; and Rhona A. Kyongera, Senior Manager of Communications and Public Relations. The awards were accepted in recognition of the company's CEO, Mulinge Sylvia M.B.S., who has been a driving force behind MTN's commitment to sustainability and social impact.

Commenting on the awards, Rhona Kyongera expressed her pride in the achievements, stating, "These recognitions highlight MTN’s continuous dedication to making a positive difference in society while advancing environmental sustainability and community development. We are honored to be recognized for the work we are doing to create a brighter, more sustainable future for Uganda."
