MTN Uganda is
stepping forward to support the next generation of priests and community
leaders. Recognizing the importance of digital skills in today’s fast-changing
world, MTN Uganda, through its Foundation, has equipped upcoming young priests at
the St. Joseph’s Seminary Nyenga with the technological tools they need for
personal growth and educational advancement.
In a generous
gesture to commemorate the school’s 100th anniversary, MTN Uganda has donated
10 computers, a year of free internet access, and backup power systems, with a
total value of UGX 65 million. Thes initiative is designed to help students at
St. Joseph’s Seminary Nyenga develop vital digital skills, enabling them to
navigate the complexities of the modern world while preparing for their future
roles as community leaders.
Access to
technology is essential for education and personal development, particularly in
the digital age. By providing these resources, MTN Uganda is not only enhancing
the learning environment at the seminary but also opening up new opportunities
for students to engage with educational content, conduct research, and connect
with broader networks. This investment in technology is a positive step toward
empowering Uganda’s youth and fostering their capacity to contribute positively
to society.
"We are
excited to be part of shaping the future of these young leaders,” said an MTN Uganda representative. "By providing them with
the tools they need to thrive, we are helping to ensure that they can embrace
the opportunities that technology offers and fulfill their potential in serving
their communities.”
