MTN Rwanda Chief Executive Officer Mitwa Kaemba Ng’ambi has
welcomed a delegation from the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) led by
its Secretary-General, Her Excellency Deemah Al Yahya, as part of a courtesy
call to her office.
The courtesy call which was on the sidelines of the just-ended
World Telecommunications Development Conference held in Kigali, Rwanda, afforded
both industry leaders to discuss a wide range of industry issues.
The DCO Secretary-General and her team were in Kigali this
month to participate in the Partner2Connect event at this year’s WTDC organized
by the International Telecommunications Union.
They also met with public and private stakeholders who are fully engaged in Rwanda’s digital transformation
agenda.
Earlier, CEO Mitwa Kaemba Ng’ambi had meetings with
Ericsson SVP, CTO & Head of Group Function, Erik Ekudden, to discuss their
long partnership.
In a statement issued after the meeting, MTN Rwanda noted
that over the years, the partnership between the two entities had established various services and products within MTN Rwanda and Mobile
Money Rwanda Ltd, closing the digital divide and propelling financial inclusion.
It further revealed that MTN has been working with Ericsson
on enhancing consumer experience through Ericsson’s Managed Services Solutions.
“One of these services includes MTN’S modernized Network
Operating Centre (NOC) that was implemented to manage end-end monitoring of MTN
network in November 2021. It added that through the NOC, MTN Rwanda and Mobile Money Rwanda’s
Network Operations Center and the Incidents Management tools are automated,
improving network operations efficiency and boosting customers experience,” it
added.
