MTN Rwanda extends hospitality to delegates attending Commonwealth Business Forum 2022

MTN Rwanda is leaving no stone unturned at this year’s Commonwealth Business Forum held in Kigali, Rwanda.

With its mother company, MTN Group, the main sponsor for the 2022 Commonwealth Business Forum, MTN Rwanda is leveraging on the high-power event to extend hospitality to delegates attending the conference.


Hosting the Ministerial Breakfast for Ministers, Governors, and Ambassadors from member countries, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Rwanda, Mitwa Kaemba Ng’ambi, used the opportunity to welcome distinguished guests to the Commonwealth Business Forum 2022 and interacted with them about the operations of MTN Group within the Commonwealth Nations.

“It is an honor for MTN Group to extend hospitality to delegates attending the #CBF2022, MTN Group already operates in 8 countries in the Commonwealth Nations, and 135 million people are connected to the digital world,” she said.


Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Musoni Paula in her remarks acknowledged MTN Rwanda’s leading role in bridging the learning gap during the COVID-19 pandemic and called on them to partner with Rwanda’s ICT and Innovation Ministry to ensure digital literacy for all citizens.

The Chief Executive of Smart Africa, Lacina Kone also use the occasion to urge African governments to unite to fully unlock their potential in the digital market.


Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer at MTN Group, Nompilo Morafo maintained that MTN believes in a better future and strives to bring the benefits of modern connected life to everyone across markets.

“At MTN we believe in a better future and strive to bring the benefits of a modern connected life to everyone across our markets, but we also understand that none of our goals would be possible without you,” she emphasized.


In another development, MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita interacted with journalists on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Business Forum 2022.

He reiterated MTN’s commitment to making sure that all its operations will provide rural broadband coverage by 2025.

“We are putting up capital to ensure coverage and connectivity for all,” he stressed.
