HONOR boosts digital learning in Limpopo Schools

Global technology brand HONOR has reinforced its commitment to South Africa's digital inclusion agenda by donating high-performance laptops and tablets to Kabelo High School in Limpopo. The initiative, implemented in partnership with Phuty Phuty Drop-In Centre, coincided with Youth Month celebrations and the G20 Digital Economy Working Group meetings, drawing the participation of Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Hon. Solly Malatsi. 

The donation addresses critical technology gaps in rural education, providing students with modern tools to enhance digital literacy and access e-learning resources. Minister Malatsi praised the public-private collaboration as exemplary of the partnerships needed to achieve South Africa's digital transformation goals. "Such initiatives demonstrate how technology companies can actively contribute to building an inclusive digital future," he remarked during the handover ceremony. 

HONOR's contribution aligns with national efforts to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities, particularly in rural schools where access to technology remains limited. The devices will enable Kabelo High School learners to develop essential digital skills, access online educational content, and prepare for technology-driven careers. 

The event highlighted the growing importance of corporate social investment in South Africa's education sector, with technology playing a pivotal role in modernizing learning environments. This initiative forms part of broader Youth Month activities across South Africa, emphasizing the critical role of digital access in creating opportunities for young people.
