The Ministère de la
Communication, des Télécommunications et du Numérique has paid tribute
to women working within the ministry in recognition of their contribution to
the country’s digital transformation during celebrations marking International Women's Day.
The minister commended the role of female
professionals across the department, noting that women continue to play an
increasingly important role in innovation, entrepreneurship and the development
of the digital sector in Senegal.

The event was held under the international theme
“Rights, Justice, Action: for all women and girls” and the national theme
“Economic and Social Recovery Plan: Jubbanti Koom, Women in Action,” which
highlight the importance of gender equality and women’s participation in
national development.
Officials noted that women within the
ministry contribute significantly to the implementation of public policies and
the advancement of initiatives aimed at building an inclusive and efficient
digital ecosystem that creates opportunities for citizens.
The celebration was also marked by a
communal “ndogou” gathering, a traditional Ramadan meal shared at sunset, which
brought together ministry leadership, directorates and staff in a moment of
dialogue and institutional cohesion during the holy periods of Ramadan and Lent.

During the event, the minister called
for unity, solidarity and collective effort among staff, emphasizing that the
success of the ministry’s reforms and projects depends on the commitment and
collaboration of its workforce.
The
ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening an inclusive and innovative
digital sector that supports national development and expands opportunities
across Senegal.
